Civil litigation is the method of resolving disputes or claims between individuals, companies, local authorities and government departments. Generally such matters fall into two categories. Firstly contractual disputes regarding private agreements between two or more parties and secondly civil wrongs caused by one party to another either deliberately or negligently.
